There was a ton of advertising for the GS350. On almost every other street here, there were billboards advertising the GS350. Not to mention the commercial with the 2 GS's.
EDIT: There has also been alot of advertising for the ES and IS. Lexus in general has been advertising alot around here.

I will say I have seen ES ads, not as many IS ads and it must all just be generating a buzz and showroom traffic. I can agree with that point.

reported sales for September 2006 of 168,888 units; a decline of 7 percent
(4 percent decline, unadjusted) compared to September 2005 sales of 175,556
units. Sales are reported on an adjusted basis unless otherwise indicated.
"The new, more fuel-efficient products in our portfolio are available
in the marketplace, and customers are responding positively to their
arrival," said Steven Landry, Vice President - Sales and Field Operations,
Chrysler Group. "The Dodge Caliber and Jeep(R) Compass are both strong
selling products and the Dodge Nitro is showing great momentum in the short
time it has been available. And, we've got more great products to launch in
the fourth quarter."
The performance of several products in key segments such as minivans
and sport-utility vehicles posted significant sales gains during September,
while new product introductions continue to gain momentum and lead the way
for additional new product deliveries in the fourth quarter.
Minivans
Chrysler Group strengthened its leadership in the minivan segment with
the Dodge Caravan and the Chrysler Town & Country, both of which offer the
exclusive Stow 'n Go(R) seating and storage system. Sales for Chrysler
Group minivans increased 53 percent, posting sales of 33,122 units for
September. Previous year sales were 20,784 units.
Sport-utility Vehicles

of the sport-utility category for the Chrysler Group and a 22 percent rise
in Jeep brand sales. The Jeep Commander posted a monthly sales record of
9,780 units, an increase of 517 percent over September 2005 sales of 1,524
units, the first month it was available.
New Products

receiving positive customer response. The Dodge Caliber, which is making
headway in the small car segment, posted healthy sales of 8,243 units in
September. Since its inception, the Dodge Caliber has posted sales of
68,001 units.
The Jeep Compass continues its strong momentum, posting sales of 3,680
units, an increase of 85 percent over August 2006 sales of 2,061 units. The
Jeep Compass expands the product portfolio of the Jeep brand with an
all-new, modern-styled compact Jeep that delivers fun, freedom, utility,
excellent fuel efficiency and Jeep 4x4 capability at a terrific value.
The Chrysler Aspen launched in September, posted sales of 734 units,
while the Dodge Nitro posted sales of 966 units in its first month of
availability. The all-new 2007 Chrysler Aspen is the latest addition to the
Chrysler brand showroom -- a premium SUV that is a value alternative to
luxury-priced competitors while offering fuel-saving MDS technology,
best-in-class torque, horsepower and interior room.
Chrysler Group announces its "All About The Best" 0 percent financing
for 60 months on a majority of 2006 Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge products.

I was trying to look at this as well but I was trying to see if we could get enough information to only do the V8s and I don't think we have that for all the models. We all know the sixes outsell the eights but you have to wonder if the price of gas had much effect. I don't remember exactly but I think the 550 had something like 330 sales while the M5 was 99. I am not sure why I was fascinated by that. Whether the 550 was lower than I would have imagined or that there are that many people opting for the M5. About the only thing that really caught my eye, even though the numbers are down is that the 300C, Magnum, and Charger are selling around 24,000 a month. I think DC should be pretty pleased with that all things considered.
Fit sales have always been dependent on supply. If Honda's supply was able to meet demand, then the Fit wouldn't have one of the shortest 'Days on lot' in the industry. Fit worldwide sales should be expected to drop. It is in fact an 'old' model everywhere else in the world. We've received the Fit in the US during the middle of it's model cycle.

Ron - the 550/M5 numbers are down due to the model changeover. What is weird is that the M5 actually outsold the 550 from Sept 05-Dec 05 (not sure on the exact months).
edit: correction, only the M5 is going through a model changeover - but 5-series production was stopped during August for the "holiday"

Sales @ Toyota/Honda Overtake 2 of the Big 3
GREG KEENAN
AUTO INDUSTRY REPORTER
The old order that has dominated Canada's vehicle market for generations faded away in September as two of the once-mighty Big Three tumbled out of the top three rankings.
Toyota Canada Inc. and Honda Canada Inc. jumped into the second and third spots ahead of DaimlerChrysler Canada Ltd. and Ford Motor Co. of Canada Ltd., marking the first time both Japan-based companies have been in the top three.
Traditional leader General Motors of Canada Ltd. still tops the rankings with an 8-per-cent rise last month, but combined market share for the world's largest auto maker, Chrysler and Ford fell to less than 50 per cent in Canada last month for just the second time.
"This is a watershed moment in the history of the Canadian automotive sector," said analyst Dennis DesRosiers, who has been watching the industry for 20 years.
The strong showings by Honda and Toyota helped propel sales ahead by 9 per cent last month from year-earlier levels.
Last month's sales of 136,057 compare with the weak 124,447 performance a year earlier, but they still represent the first time this year that the industry has had two positive months in a row.
Chrysler, Ford and GM also posted sales increases, but they were outpaced by Honda, which rode a 46-per-cent surge to its best September on record.
Canadians bought a record 7,586 compact Civic cars last month.
That's more than twice as many Civics as Chrysler's total passenger car sales of 3,775 and more than Ford's car total of 4,154.
Toyota's sales jumped 12 per cent, giving it a record for September -- the ninth consecutive monthly record.
"The Japanese are benefiting from continuous improvement in their product, penetration of new segments of the market and a steady strengthening of their dealer bodies," said John Casesa, a veteran industry observer and managing partner of Casesa Shapiro LLC.
It's inevitable that Toyota's market share will grow in North America, Mr. Casesa added, because of Detroit's near-term strategy of shrinking in order to deal with a financial crisis.
Toyota was helped by a strong market in September in Canada, said Tony Wearing, managing director of Toyota Canada.
New products such as the mid-sized Camry and FJ sport utility vehicle have been well received, Mr. Wearing said, adding that Toyota has strong entries in two key markets in Canada -- subcompact and compact.
Neither Ford nor Chrysler has a subcompact to compete with Toyota's Yaris, the Honda Fit, the Versa from Nissan Canada Inc. and Chevrolet and Pontiac models from GM.
Mr. DesRosiers noted that sales rose for both Ford and Chrysler, just not to the same extent as at Honda and Toyota.
It's not the advent of a new Big Three, he said, but perhaps the beginning of a Big One, with GM in the lead and four rivals fighting it out for the second through fifth spots.
In the U.S. market, Toyota Motor Corp. came within a whisker of overtaking Ford Motor Co. for second spot behind General Motors Corp. and finished well ahead of No. 4 Chrysler.
Ford's sales rose 5 per cent, thanks to a recovery in sales of pickup trucks and long-suffering truck-based sport utility vehicles such as Explorer and Expedition.
GM's sales slid 7 per cent, while Chrysler posted a 4-per-cent decline.
The jump in Ford's SUV sales should not be taken as a sign of a turnaround in a critical market for the Detroit-based companies, said George Pipas, Ford's director of sales analysis.
"The rate of decline in these categories industry-wide might not be so severe as it has been in the past 24 months," Mr. Pipas said on a conference call.
That experience was not universal, however.
GM's mid-sized, frame-based SUVs slid in the U.S. market, while, Cadillac SUVs jumped up 35 per cent.
Sales of the Dodge Durango slumped 44 per cent for Chrysler in the United States.
