E55.
E63 doesn't have the modding ability like the E63, and the E63 isn't as 'in your face' as the E55.
Replace E63 with M5 and same thing applies.

I almost got an M5 but decided against it, I don't want to deal with the **** BMW has with their high performance engines for the first few years. Not worth my time.

Only for the last few hours i have learnt alot from you guys about the M5 and it's competitors. I am going to use the info that is given to me today and compare it to my needs then i will go from there. One last thing as much as i love the M5 i just can't get over that it is just a upgrade of a 525,530 or 550i. Looks aren't much different and i wanted to stand out part. Even if i drive a M5 people out there are driving 5series which is the same thing except a V10 and a few other things. What i'm saying is i really don't want to see alot of what i got all the time because then it no longer is special. I felt really good when i first got my 03 GS430 because there really wasn't alot of gs430 running around in columbus ohio. Gs300,Gs400 and Gs430 they all look alike other then engine size same as 5 series. But now what really pisses me off is that my lexus dealership is using a brand new 05 Gs430 fully loaded as a loaner and that ticks me off, why you ask because i feel that my car is no longer special when it is used as a loaner. I now how some people abuse those loaners. I nearly spent $10k to make it look and ride different but now even when i thought that it was different it really wasn't anything different then something that it is based on. Sorry you guys probably think i got issuses but thats how it is. Humm maybe i should buy a viper thanks for listening.

Finding an 07 below sticker will be a challenge. The 06s appear to be available right now and there may be a chance of getting one below sticker - but you will have to deal with the SMG.

I do think that the M5 IS different enough to be noticed however. Whenever one is in the area it sure does seem to turn heads.

Did anyone notice he said he has $90k to spend? I dont know about you guys, but all of the M5s and CLS 55/63s are all nothing less than $98k, at least from the dealers Ive visited. My friend just bought an '06 CLS500 last night and the CLS55 and 63 they said were going for $105k+. The cheapest M5 at the BMW dealer was $98k, the more expensive of the two was $101k. My ucnle has an '06 E55 and its definitely a fun and FAST car, however, I dont know that it has that "supercar" status the M5 MAY carry as well as they CLS55/63. The MBZ dealer we were at had the E63 for $89k I believe.

On the way home from the dealer on the expressway, an M5 screamed past us and I must say, after hearing that exhaust note, it was a bit hard to walk after... The damn car sounded like an F1 car or bike from a distance, once it got next to us then past us, it was just an unbelivable sound of beauty.

M5.

When you see a person(age 30~50) driving a mercedes AMG, he looks like a boring, non-enthusiastic, rich bastard just driving a very nice car.

when you see a person(age 30~50) driving an Audi Sx, he looks like a thinking man, with his own individual taste for a sexy car.

when you see a person(age 30~50) driving a Lexus, it seems like he couldn't afford a BMW/MB/Audi.

when you see a person(Age 30~50) driving a BMW M5, he looks like an automotive enthusiast looking for a perfect balance between performance/luxury/comfort.

I can careless about the 3 series, 5 series or 7 series. even the lizard looking M6s. but when it comes down to someone driving a M5.. its just different. Its a perfect executive sports sedan.

my buddy just got a E63...gave away his white/white CLS.....

ONe

He got a faster, more "professional" car

Personally, I think the CLS55 looks and sounds better than the E63

The E63 you're right about, but you'd be amazed at how well the CLS AMG handles. Its not quite as good as the M6 (its main competitor) but its not that far off on the other hand.

lux.sh: LOL no.

Um, the E63 and the CLS63 are essentially the same cars. When the CLS55 initially came out yes it was a 'better' handling car but now the steering rack is the same on both of the cars (I think 2005 and newer E55's had the tighter rack)

Yeah, you got issues

In all seriousness though, the M5 is absolutely sick. A few weeks ago a M5 on a freeway blew past me while I was going 90 mph. It was like I wasn't even moving

One of my best friends just got a black/black BMW 550. After driving it numerous times, I'll admit that I'm 100% impressed. People may have differing opinions on the styling, but there is no doubting the performance of the 550. What a beast. I can only imagine what a M5 is like

Hahaha. Do you think anyone on this board really chose Lexus because it is cheaper than those other brands? That's not what I think... The only M5 drivers I have seen here have been older (50-60) executive types who look like they just bought the car because their buddies at the office told them it's the thing to have.

Maybe German car owners really think that though. I definitely have noticed that BMW and Audi owners sometimes drive very aggresively on the highway when my car is near by. Also one 3-series driver blew past me in a sharp turn, squeezing between two other cars in front of me and terrorizing everyone in the vicinity. Sheesh. What is the point of a car if you have to drive like a lunatic to appreciate it? Just because you are a dangerous and reckless driver, doesn't mean your car is better...
