jk of course... I'd say that's a step or two up from the GS
E-class is a very nice car but I emphatically, categorilly, most definitely disagree it is a step up from the GS. I would say they are in the same level. Since the GS has proven to be more reliable, I would would place it a little higher if I had to make a choice....but that's only because reliability is one of my highest values for car choice. They are in equal status imo.

I agree.. i wouldn't say it is a step up since GS and E pretty much in the same class.. I actually went to Lexus dealer with my wife at least 4 times to look at the GS hybrid.. (I dont know why she wanted one but she is a enviormental engineer may be that's why..?) The GS is nice.. but for 70 grand man I just can't do it.. I have look at other GS but I'm just not too impress.. its not days and night compare to my old one...
The GS will out last my E no question about that...I know my E will brake down some day but I got 100k factory warrenty so I should be ok.. I still have 2 Lexus park outside of my house and they are both excellent as far as reliability.. but would I be happier if I got the new GS instead of the E?? Not sure.. I know I'm pretty happy with the E beside the 9 mpg I'm getting

Congrats!! Great choice will definitely kick my E320's ***. The CLS actually handles better, to me at least. Even though it's based on the E-Class chassis, etc, it's set up to be stiffer, and if I recal correctly, it's a little lighter too.
They are very good vehicles. I had a chance to drive one once for a friend who was going on a 2 week trip (and my friend wanted it driven). Nice torque and great steering. A wonderful vehicle.
are you sure? 9mpg? never heard it before. i only heard about that number on the ford gt
well for my first full tank of gas 1/3 was gone in first 40 miles.. after that it wasn't as bad... hwy get better millege
This car is a monster in straight line..it is very very fast from the factory.. but it doesn't seem like it handle as well as my p-car and M.. eventhough its fast it can get boring after a while
