1st Gen Boxster opinions
I 'm trying to get as much feedback as possible so does anyone have any experience with an older Porsche Boxster? I would say around a model year 2000. I'm looking to pick one up and they seem to be fairly reliable. This car would be a daily driver so it would need to fairly comfortable to live with. My only real concern is the price of maintenance, but other than that I think it's a great used car buy.
You are right about the $$maintenance$$. A O.T. friend who's making comfortable living thought it would be cool to get a boxster. So he did, and it was cool. Until after putting some mileage on that baby and when it came to the time to service--the dealership quoated him $3000 to get oil change and fan replaced.
Good luck though.
Good luck though.
maintenance is a bit high cost so i would recommend a 2002
but porsche has always been pretty darn reliable until cayenne
more reliable than lexus in fact according the JD power
definately look into the TSBs and recalls and make sure they have been done
there have been some serious recalls on the older boxsters
if u can, get a boxster S
around 25k$
definately a great car
even better with the removeable hardtop option
