I'm not sure about other items, but for cars, it's actually easier to get them into the States. When other countries like China only issue limited number of vehicle owner ship permits per year--as a matter of a fact, they've decreased the number allowed this year for city of Shanghai-- according to what I know, getting the Crown of Mark X into the U.S. requires comparatively less paper work.
