No jokes about the Lada. I know of at least one college friend who has installed a turbo in his vehicle in Russia and can rip the throat of a Ferrari. They are extremely lightweight.
There is a guy who works at the Cuban Embassy here in Mexico City and sometimes stops by my uncle's shop for service. He calls it affordable transportation. I have driven it a few times just to test it out. Worst clutch you can imagine. The gear ratios are so off, but hey it runs.
