The Versa and Fit look like mini-mini vans or something. The Yaris pictured is just ugly. lol

We are looking for a commuter car for my wife. We went to look at the Matrix, the Fit, and the Scion xA this weekend. I know they are slightly not in the same segment, but the Fit (as a price-value package) won out. The problem is that it is relatively new and the dealers are marking it up. A few sales people did offer it at MSRP (and even VERY slightly below) but of course they did not have the combo we wanted.

Supply seems to also be lagging way behind the demand. Hopefully, this changes in a month or two.

always the case, the civic Si is hard to get below MSRP, the new civic generation was hard to get when it first came out

another reason ppl like Scions - no haggle policy. Dealers can lose their license for selling them if they markup the cars...

whoster> Those pictures were actually taken at the back of our facility, which is located next door to Toyota Nat'l headquarters. I think the warehouses at our places and the ones off of Skypark are made by the same company. Torrance...represent!

I reallly want to get a Fit, but I'm not ok with the markups many of these dealers are posting. I'm hearing up to $1500 over MSRP! I'll have to wait a little while.

The Fit really shines compared to what else is out there. My girlfriend has an '05 Matrix, and it is a good car in and by itself (I believe it received top reliability ratings) but doesn't have the looks or mpg of the fit. The Fit and Matrix have a similar price point, and despite the difference in size, I believe storage capacity is comparable. Matrix is overall a very good car.

the FIT is definitely a well equipped car for the money...i do like the roundness of the Yaris, but like you said it's a bit more feminine

How soon are you ready Mike? Maybe we can swing a deal for two somewhere.

Well, I am ready now but will get it whenever I can swing a decent price. I hate having to pay this mark up stuff. I bought my GS in 98, MDX in 02, checked out the Sienna and mazda3 this year (both refresh years), and now the Fit so the pricing/timing for my car purchases have not been great.

Anyway, if my purchase gets pushed out to July, we can talk. My 1st choice is the Silver Storm Sports.
