I think E39 is just an ordinary looking car, but E60 is just unbelievably good looking, especially the M5.

You have completely missed the point about the essence of what makes up the previous gen M5.

The car is about performance. Period. It is definitely NOT about looks.

It is about all of the following (and some):
- Extreme Performance in an ordinary looking 4-door sedan.
- Very business looking, very conservative.
- A wolf in sheep's clothing.

It is the ultimate "sleeper" looking car. Until you look at the fat rear tires, the quad exhaust tips that just barely hint at the performance capabilities.

The E60 on the other hand is also about looks (assuming you are into the "Bangle" looks). I would much rather take the E39 any day.

I did. They really high balled the price at first then ended up taking $1000 or so off. I paid $2650 for 36 months/75k with a $100 deductable (please don't tell me I got shafted lol).

Doh! I got shafted then! I paid 3,000 for the same warranty (except my deductible is $100 when I drive it down there and $200 elsewhere). It was my first time ever buying from a dealer, I didn't even know the warranty could be negotiated down Oh well, I'll be seeing them again in a month or two and paying them back. The warranty has been good though, I'ver had to use it a few times and I have never been given problems when they needed to pay for things, apparently the warranty company is one of the best. The $3k was worth it.

well look is just personal preference anyway, the e60 has been in the market for so long, i have heard more than a few people saying that they love the e60 much more than the e39

and in terms of performance? i almost have no doubt that the e60 m5 will eat the e39 alive
