"USER-FRIENDLY" is how i describe the lex nav. i don't need KITT to tell me where to go-i OWN him! my least complaint about the lex-nav. is u can't use it while in motion
(but some found a way to do it
) honda on the other hand can perform this (as i've seen on my cousin's 03 acc. coupe) and now it can give u a real time traffic update... but the q is how fast can it deliver the updates??? i beleive it'll be hard for angelenos to focus their attention to this
traffic here is so unpredictable
i saw this commercial about the acura nav.-my friends are thinking how traffic it would be now at sepulveda (beside 405fwy) since the nav. showed that route now everybody's following the commercial
(i'm not sure bout' this i just heard it from them-acura owners...2 of my friends) anyways to conclude i don't need a computer to know where the traffic is-thanx to the touch screen all i have to do is touch the surroundings of my position from there i'll have my own route and get rid of the traffic... i don't even trust local radio stations, by the time they tell u the update ur already stuck into it!!!
touch screen... i'm loving it-everything's there ...a/c, radio/cd,
up to now since owning the car for several years i still haven't decided if i will to change my audio system, i just don't want to mess up the looks of the original-i just want the clean look of it. (that's just me
)

)the new RL's NAV might be state of the art, but that doesn't make ALL Honda/Acura NAVs superior. I don't like the nav on the older TLs, and the new TL isn't any better either.

Also I heard traffic data on the Acuras is so slow and incomplete as to be almost useless. Anyone used that system and able to confirm?
ah yes, inconsistency is another thing, indeed sometimes you have to do drive and sometimes dr. you just have to play around with it.Originally Posted by diablo1
I agree with the complaint that you have to get the street exactly right. They should have "Hope Dr" and "Hope Drive" both, but they don't, and it's not even consistent... Sometimes things are spelled out, sometimes they are abbreviated. I've noticed this too with POI icons. If you are looking for Friendly's restaurant, there will be 15 listings for "Friendly's", 5 listings for "Friendly's Restaurant", and 2 for "Friendly's Restaurant and Ice Cream Shoppe". Or something like that. They really need to standardize this.

bottom line though, after using it for a while, i start to get used to it and now how to make it give me the right answer. most of the time now i can get what i want easily. but there was definitely a bit learning curve. again, still much better than some other nav i have used
