I think it's smart marketing personally. Keeps Audi's buyer options wide open. The M3 comes in a convertible (but not a wagon), so why not send something out there to directly compete with it?
i also don't like the cabriolet, especially now with more pics, it looks so weird. saw the a4 cabriolet and don't thihnk it looks good as well

I know I shouldn't like this car - it's a monster in every regard: too heavy, quirky styling, uninspiring performance, etc. etc. - but I can't help it.
The S4/RS4 Avant is a sex machine and there's just no way around it.
If I had $55k to drop on a wagon, it'd be the S4 w/ premium, sound, nav packages ... and maybe the wood.
