Guys,
Was curious if you think a limited edition model would hold its value to a better extent than a regular car at a regular price??
I have an 02 Expedition Shaq Edition that is #19 of 500. It is in perfect condition with 11,000 miles. Yes, 3000 miles per year!!
It sold new for $56,900. I cannot find any for sale online and KBB and whatever else don't really help because of the obvious add-ons. So I cannot find an even somewhat accurate price.
I got an excellent deal on it because the people who were selling it didn't know anything about it or that it was a limited edition. Anyone have any ideas as to how I could find out its value?
Thx,
Jonny

it's all depend on demand and supply. Even just for a regular car, it the demand for it is high then it holds value well. If there is no high demand, it doesn't matter if it's special/limited, it won't hold value.
I am not a fan of suv but I am curious what is Shaq Edition different from others?

There must be a type of Expedition forum on the net... So somewhere there's 499 of these lurking around the country and I'm sure you can find the value somewhere... IMO i think limited Edtion vehicles are worth more because obviously they are limited and they don't make them anymore...
Limited edition cars are certainly not worth any more if you do a trade-in at a dealership. 99% of customers don't know the difference and aren't willing to pay a premium, so the dealership won't fork over extra either. The only way to get more is to sell to a private party who knows what they want and is willing to pay for it. There is that 1% out there who both know what the special editions are and are willing to pay for the exclusivity and/or extra features.
Oh, and can I say that I fell out of my chair to think that anyone, ANYONE would pay $56K for a freakin' Ford Expedition?!

Unless it was some sort of Corvette special edition, I don't think you're going to get too much return on that vehicle.
