Default More useful reliability research

When choosing between Lexus and one of the European brands, the issue of reliability inevitably plays a large role. Lexus clearly has the stronger rep.

But how many more times will one of the German cars be in the shop over the first three years? The first five years? And for how many more days?

You simply cannot answer these questions with the data currently available. So I've begun collecting my own data at www.truedelta.com . Though I will eventually require a larger minimum sample, right now I need only 25 cars for a specific model and model year to get started.

I haven't started collecting data on any Lexus model yet, but would very much like to.

Unlike J.D. Power, my focus is on consumers, and I want to help as many as possible. But I also want to encourage people to participate. So what I'm going to do is provide free access to the results for anyone who helps provide the data.

I'll also be open to interesting questions that can be answered by slicing the data different ways. CR and JD Power are neither open nor flexible. I intend to provide a much different service.

how exactly current data doesnt show reliability? And what checks do you have in place to make sure there are no frauds?
