Bondurant in PHX - FUN!
I was in PHX on business this past week. (Couldn't swing the Barrett Jackson auction.) For the requisite team building exercise, my company popped for a 3-hr "teaser" at Bob Bondurant! Team building generally leaves much to be desired, but this was great! We didn't get to drive the Z06 Vettes that littered the grounds (wiht keys in the doors!) nor did we drive the manual tranny CTS Caddys (not V-series). We drove the orange previous gen Mustang GT. Upgraded manual tranny. Larger cross-drilled and slotted brakes. High-perf tires Goodyear F1s. Car had lots of get up and go, which translated to lots of screaching and squealing. Testosterone festival.
> 3 runs (2 timed) through a small autocross cone course ... really got the 'ol heart pumping! My co-pilot (colleague) was 3rd fastest through the course. I won't tell you my times.
> Karting (not shifter carts) outside on another cone course ... always a fun time and outdoors is certainly better than my hometown's indoor stinker
> "Hot laps" around Bondurant's big race track with the instructor at the wheel ... this just might have been the most fun of the three even though we weren't the ones driving ... the instructors really show you what the GT can do and how weak you are behind the wheel!
The Bondurant staff really did their job because many of us are seriously interested in returning for a full-blown class. However, it looks to be $1.5K/day minimum for their various courses.
Has anyone been to Bondurant in PHX? Or, a similar course somewhere else? Last night I read about BMW's M-series courses here in SC.

I haven't been to bondurant per say but I have driven all 3 courses on firebird and.. autocrossed there as well...
Surprised they still have any GT's left they were trying to sell a few when they got their GM stuff.

I thought they were joking, but yes they told us that the Mustangs were for sale. The one that I drove only had 7.5K miles on the clock, but then again the "service" light was on. It's an easy car to pass on ... no chance that it has lived an easy life.
