OK... What's wrong with this picture??!?!
I understand that some lower cost dealerships try to get high end almost new cars on their lots, but come on!.... "I'd like to trade my 550 in for 37 Subaru WRX STIs please! :uh:

haha i think that's indeed a bad way to get the wrong attraction :)
personally i have seen a lot of dealerships with other brands used cars in the front line of their lots. when asked, they say it's to show how people with those brands of cars come in and trade in their "junk" for something better (their own brand). dunno, personally i think that's odd. i'd rather see a whole line of cars from that dealership |
I would be interested to know the story behind the 550 being there. Maybe it belongs to the GM/Owner or something and he just parks it there, (couldn't tell if it was for sale or not by the pic). Although it is pretty rare to find those kind of vehicles at a Suburu dealer.
The One Infinity Dealer did something similar, he had a LS430, Vette, and few other nice cars out front trying to show how these are traded in on their vehicles. Personnally that really shouldn't influence anyone's decision, but sometimes it does.... |
Haha, some subaru's will perform pretty close to a Ferrari or Porsche at a small fraction of the price. Some people really stretch their budgets to buy luxury items, maybe they're finally going broke & can't afford them anymore LOL . . .
|
I see this all the time.
.....I guess its a Texas thing. Truth is......they probably belong to the dealership. The owner uses them as his own cars. That way he doesnt have to pay tax on them. Then displays them for ego. |
It is for sale... I wouldn't have taken a better picture, but it's right off of I35 (a dangerous road through Temple)....
They always have nice cars on display, but this takes the cake. |

Go on in and do some shopping, chief. Trust me, you can do a LOT worse than a new Subaru....a WHOLE LOT worse, even in relatively snow-free Central Texas.
|
it probably belongs to the owner of the dealership.....trying to impress customers with their HIGH END trade ins for the POS cars they offer!
|
Actually....this brings a question in my mind...
lets say this guy brings in his 550 and wants to trade it in for a subaru....does the dealership give him a check? Has anyone ever traded in a used vehicle that was still valued more then the new car you were buying? For example...what if i traded in my 2006 GS for a 2006 ford focus? What would happen? :uh: |

If you still owe money to the bank but trade in value is higher than payoff, you get a check back but you have to wait until the dealership gets the title. Usualy about a month wait time.
If you own the trade in then sometimes they issue a check right away, but usually they mail it to you because they have to print the check out from business office. This usually takes about a week or so.
