I remember C & D got 6.1 sec.0-60 for the Maxima, & that's the fastest I' ve seen published for that car . . .
Not surprising. Put Car and Driver's Brock Yates in almost anything and you'll shave off 0-60 times. He was a madman behind the wheel from Day One and always will be.
The rest of C & D' s staff is a little more sedate.
Are you sure about that, because I HIGHLY doubt it.
Any links to back it up?
Nissan has been advertising the Maxima with 268 hp and 5.6 sec (with a disclaimer saying that C&D did it) for the past couple of months. The commercial basically states three things: V6, 268 hp, and 5.6 sec. Then the car drives off. Anyone else has seen it?

Hmmm, I have honestly not heard of it.
I searched through the C & D site, and could not find this.
I believe the fact that a Maxima or Altima can hit 0 - 60 in 6 sec flat, possibly even a 5.9 or 5.8 with a manual. I just doubt the ability to achieve 5.7 or 5.6.
I know you guys are impressed with the acceleration numbers but what's more impressive to me is the skidpad number. If I remember correctly the Cayenne and the FX are the only other SUVs that have better skidpad numbers and we all know how much more these two SUVs cost.
Please Lexus give us a better handling RX350 and I'll be first in line to buy one.
