Are Escalades really THAT bad?
I don't know if it's just coincidence, or maybe if the Caddy's are crap, but within the last two days I have seen 3 Escalade's with major problems. Last night I saw one stopped on the side of the road and looked like the drive shaft split in two or fell out. Then this morning I saw another one on the side of the Interstate with a SERIOUS suspension problem. It looked almost as if the entire driver rear suspension fell apart as the Escalade was tucking the drivers rear wheel only. Then to top it all off, on my way home from getting some sandwiches I saw one that was trying to pull of to a parking lot and it sounded like a dying lawnmower and couldn't move not more than 5 miles an hour. Now I know that GM has made some bad cars in the past, but is the Caddy really THAT bad??? Maybe it was just a coincidence within these past few days...

Yes, these vehicles do have problems.... but usually not of the type you saw. Brakes have been the most chronic problem with large GM truck-based vehicles like the Escalade....a subject I have cautioned potential buyers of these vehicles about a number of times, both on and off CL.
The irony in this is, about 2-3 years ago right after I got my lexus, I was arguing a point with mmarshall abotu how the escalade is actually a superior vehicle to the landcruiser/LX470. Of course now I believe differently.
