Bump. The A8 long base is awesome, especially the rear cabin design.

The A8 is my favourite large sedan right now, & it looks so much better with the old grille . . . sigh . . .

Question: A8 W12 vs. S8, which will win in a race, drag or road course? Which one is positioned higher? 12 cylinders vs. the S badge...hmm... I guess it's much like S600 vs. S55 AMG eh.

S600 v S55 exactly. That's what I was gonna say. They both have insane power but the 600 seems more luxury while those three letters AMG just tell you it's gonna be more of a sports sedan than a luxo cruiser. They're kinda the same price point too, the 600 higher, and I expect the same from Audi with the W12 (overflowing with luxury) to be the same.

WoW....ceramic brakes, as good as the famed Porsche ceramic brakes?

If they put them on, I think it would be the first application of a high-end racing technology to go into a Saloon.

But comparing the hp/tourque/0-60 times of other AMG and M cars, the S8 still seems to be a little behind.

Sure, but the fact it's AWD gives it the advantage on a track...that is, if any owners of such vehicles would ever take them to one.

Yeah and not only are they ceramic, they are also...ready......18in . That is incredibly HUGE!!!

A few other things I found to nice is the Bang &Olufsen Surround System..ready....1100 watts through 14 speakers. That is out of this world. I would love to hear what it sounds like. I have seen some pictures of the speakers in the car, and they are all highly stylized.

LED DRL's, but I believe the A8L W12 already had that.

curious, where does it say 18" rotors? i kinda doesn't make sense to me. 14" rotors setup already requires 18" wheels. assume the same 4" difference, if it's 18" rotors, that means the car has 22" stock???

and 1100w systems, to be honest that doesn't mean everything. it only means the system can do very loud. a lot of times good quality systems are not about power, but about the design. i have seen 300w systems that sound much better than 1000w system when done right.

Sure, its right here. Now it does say 18in brake system not just rotors. So maybe it includes the calipers and other parts as well. But 16in 18in ceramics whatever, thats still very impressive.

The Audi S8 extends this package with a whole array of other standard features. In addition to adaptive light technology, the special 20-inch wheels and the 18‑inch brake system, it incorporates further luxury features in the version for the German market: advanced key, the keyless access and authorisation system including starter button for the V10, sound-insulating double glazing for the windows, heated front and rear seats, a navigation system with DVD drive and a surround audio system with CD changer. The door armrest and the centre console in the S8 are upholstered in leather, together with the seats. The sports seats are equipped with lumbar supports and a memory function.

Oh true indeed. What I mean is how often do you hear of a stock system pushing over 1,000 watts?? Its not common at all. Its not even common to have stock systems pushing over 500 watts. Also, with the way sound systems are today in top of the line cars, I highly doubt that this system sounds like crap. I believe B&O has a good reputation, or had a good reputation.

By the way here are a few pics of the B & O system in the Audi. Pretty cool looking if you ask me.

V-12 always tapes precedence as the flagship for car makers. Now if they make a W-12S, that will be the new flagship

What a car!!!

I know I'll surely get some heat for this, but somehow, this car seems to be more 'exciting' than a LS460.

If I were to consider a replacement in 2 years time for my LS430, I think the S8 would rank higher than a LS460.

This car seems more fun, more power, AWD...and as someone else mentioned in another thread, german driving dynamics.

Here is another color. I like this color more than the standard Silver we are acustomed to seeing these days.

If you can honestly say that this car is ugly or not the best looking car in its class, then you need to get dropped kicked right in your neck. I dont know what the hell that would look like, but it needs to happen.
