oh i love it.... but sorry have to agree with the guys or maybe its just my taste but raise the rear a little. but beautiful car. IMO the LEGEND can NEVER get old it was waaaay ahead of its time. This is coming from a previous 92 legend coupe owner.
I tend to disagree, don't get me wrong it's a good looking sharp car but angular and edgy. New cars are round and curvy, the SC3/400 shows a great example of a "timeless" body style and body lines. Personally I would of gotten an SC instead, the acura just lacks alot of the cool features and overall interior layout design of the legend is kinda 'boring/plain' like a regular honda with woodtrim added. Lexus just has that extra quality and work put into the interior and the overall ride. But either way good clean ride, I owned a prelude before their reliability was super but as I said interior quality is far different! - digital climate, - power passenger seat, - telescopic wheel etc.

Well the fact that I have the L model it didnt come with power passanger seat, or the digital climate control. it does include:
TCS
Heated seats
all 4 power windows (for a coupe)
Telescopic sterring wheel
memory seats
Power suctioning doors (think S500)
Real wood trim
I've haven't seen it on bags yet but before the bags, this was IMO, the cleanest Legend coupe I ever saw. Its a damn pleasure to see this car in person. Legend= greatest Acura ever.
This car TOTALLY> that ugly hybrid TL a few threads down
dude, legends r fkn sick period. if yall noe about the gs type 2 6spd legend, then yall noe how fast it goes. its basically an nsx motor with only one cam. C32 motor.
Has your car been reliable? Acura built a few Legends such as yours with manual transmissions ( there wasn't much demand for them ) but the clutches were quite troublesome...another reason production of the manual trannies ceased in the early 1990's.
It's really nice to see a car like yours with a CLASSY dash and interior ....the way many companies did it 10-15 years ago. So many of today's interiors and dashes are just ludicrous....some of them make me almost want to throw up. The Nissan Quest, Saturn Ion, Scion xA and xB, Toyota Echo, the 2006 Honda Civic, and Subaru Tribeca, the Suzuki Aerio, some of the Chris Bangle BMW's, and the new Mustang V6 are good examples....the V6 Mustang for its horrible cheapness.

I respectfully disagree. I did just that. I always liked both the Legend Coupe and the Lexus SC. Back in 1995 I decided to go with the Legend Coupe over the SC400 for various reasons. I then went though 3 Legend Coupes. Now I own a Lexus SC400 and aother Lexus cars and I'm the opposite of you. The SC interior IMHO is pretty weak. The door panels are thin and the plastic crackes easy. When brand new they look great, but they definately don't hold up too well. I've seen some great SC interiors, but many have the same problems as everyone elses SC. The SC also lacks some features the Legend Coupe has as well, but also adds some features too. It is a give and take, but after owning both and living with both for a while I'm looking to get rid of my SC400. It just wasn't the car I thought it would be.
can anyone explain why engine is transveresly mounted??? I have never seen the engine bay of these cars so is it normal or modded?
I may end up being corrected on this, but I believe all Honda and Acura products of that period....the NSX excepted........had front-drive for traction and space efficiency. A transverse engine helps space efficiency even more by using even less room under the hood, leaving more space inside the cabin....something for which Hondas were famous.

The Legend is very reliable. Just like the Lexus cars it is not uncommon to see them go to 300K miles and over if properly taken care of. Like I mentioned above, I had 3 of them. 1st sold to my friend which finially died beacuse it got flooded. 2nd was a 6-Speed manual version that I sold to my sister and it is still going strong today. 3rd was my wifes automatic that I sold to my brother and he pretty much trashed it but it is still running. My personal opnion is comparing it to the SC400 that I own, the engine in the Lexus is more robust and can handle more abuse. However, over all the Legend gave me a lot less problems. My SC had every single common problem the SC and even LS owners will go though like all the control arm bushings, steeing rack bushings, power steering pump leak, door hinges, O2 sensors, and if you want to hear all the rest just go to the SC forum. The Legends that I owned had nearly nothing unespected go wrong except maybe the cracked plastic radiator tank.
By the way, the manual trannies are typical Honda. My 6-Speed finially had the original clutch replaced at over 120K miles. The two piece flyweel was resurfaced and now it drives as good as new again thus far. Not a single problem with the clutch or tranny, nor did any manual Legend owner that I personally know have a problem either. The manual Legends went up until 1995 when the switched over to the RL name.
Yes.....I know that Legends as a whole are reliable. The only reason I brought up the clutch problems is that I had read about them.....I never owned one and, of course, have no direct experience. But you seem to have had excellent luck with them.

If there is a single fault I can point to the Honda hydrolic clutch system is the clutch master and slave tend to go bad generally after around 60K miles and as early as 40K miles. Tranny itself is rock solid; however, even on mine I had to replace the clutch slave at 45K and the clutch master at 90K. Fortunately the clutch slave is only about $140 and the master is under $300. I think some of the horror stories you read were the same that I read when researching and mostly from the G1 Legends. Not that they had a problem, but because of the high expense if something did go wrong with the manual tranny. Honda I believe doesn't fix manual trannyies or trannies in general, but swaps them out entirely with a rebuild one. They don't let the dealers techs rebuild them on site. That means if one of the gears or somthing simple went wrong the whole tranny was being replaced. I don't know if they still do it this way or not though as I do know of a few NSX guys that had syncros replaced and even ring and poinions replaced without needing a full replacement.

I had a friend with a manual GS and one with a CL-S. They raced from 0 and on the freeway. The CL-S had the edge from a start but on the highway, the GS Legend took over and beat the CL-S. We did it 3 times.
