I recently sold my beater to a friend and the car I was going to buy fell through. (Damn you Leon!!! JK). Anyway, I used my beater to drive to work and back because I don't want to put miles on the Lex.

Anyway, a friend of mine has a 93 Cougar XKR with the 5.0. It needs an alternator, rear tails, and has a power steering leak and he said the transmission leaks.

The car has a nice stereo and 2 15's in the trunk!!

I have found the tails for $60, can get the alternator for $125. Not sure about the leaks though.

He said he will take $750 as is. You think I should do it??

depends on gas mileage. As a beater that would be the first thing I would look for, and a 5.0 does not sound promising on the mpg side ( i dont know the numbers though). But then again $750 is a good deal, how many miles are on it?

 

It sounds like to much of a hassle..Save your money and get something a little better.. I had a 5.0 and what a guzzler...Good Luck

Well guys, I got him down to $600 so I had to go for it.. I know gas will be expensive - but I just use it for work and drive all highway so it shouldn't be too bad!!

EPA is 19/26 on that vehicle. How they only managed to make 140 hp out of a 5.0L V8 is far beyond me.
