The tech even laughed and told me how amusing it was when the engine, starved for oil, was accelerated - say, to pass another car - it often locked the camshafts, resulting in pieces flying everywhere.

My girlfriend was considering a VW Golf, and I kept on telling her it would be a big mistake since she didn't know a thing about car mechanics and VW's in general. She just thought it is a cute car.

After reading this article, good thing she went with a Scion.

Saturn was probably chosen as a name because the 750 million miles or so between the planets Saturn and Earth represented the distance necessary to escape the lethal radiation of General Motors Corporate Headquarters. (They didn't make it.)
