I'm guessing that the 2006 GS 430 and GS 300 power ratings are on the SAE system, and will stay at 300/325, and 245/230?

It will eventually change to the newer ratings.

well it looks like the TSX numbers went up, i think and the RL, even though it went down 10 horses, it still alot of power for a V6 in my opinion, and i think that TL will still be a great car no matter what the numbers are, i mean, just look at it, that car is awesome. i always turn my head when one passes me

As mentioned in another topic, fortunately for the TSX the engine got a bump in HP anyway so the over all new SAE based numbers still went up. Under the old system it probably would have something llike 210-215 HP. This would have been a perfect time for everyone to bump up their HP to ind of mask the new systems affects.

Yeah, the 2006 ES330 and 2006 RX330 will be forced to use the Avalon's 280hp engine.
A 15hp and 20lb-ft drop would be too embarassing.

LOL, this is going to confuse consumers and work to crooked salespeople advantage. I can see a clown using his cars OLD numbers vs a competitors NEW SAE Numbers.

The _____ has 567 more HP than a Camry!!!

Wow, the Camry really got its **** kicked with these new ratings.

Anyone know how nissans VQ35 engines have done?? I've always wondered if the maxima and sentra 3.5 are really putting out what they claim.

The standard is voluntary, I think Toyota and Honda are the only companies that made the switch.

Makes sense the new LX470 actually makes more power. While the 4.3L is probably about to be retired, the 4.7L might see two more yrs of service

I just realized the 06 RX400h gasoline engine wasn't exactly detuned to 208hp, that's about its new power rating, which means a GS450h could push at a min 370hp.

I would have thought the RX400H gas engine was closer to the RX330 engine rather than the Camry (Even if they are basically the same) and the RX330 is now rated at 223 HP. That is still a 15 HP drop provided the RX400H gas engine numbers don't drop as well.
