i saw a ****ty slasher movie called "death ride" and the main character (murderer) drives a sage 3ES that appears in the whole movie.

Keep in mind when a car appears on film usually if it is featured it's because it was the highest bidder. If it is not featured it is chosen for it's bland generic styling in order to blend into the scene.Often logos are hidden, especially if the manufacturer refused to pay for exposure.

Yesterday I saw a episode of The Sopranos which featured a silver 2nd Gen GS speeding away down the street passing Tony's cousin and his girlfriend. That movie database site did not have that episode listed but someone made mention of it on the page.

I believe that is only for when cars are the main focus point of the movie, (i.e. Transformers, The Fast and the Furious) but when it's movies like Burn After Reading, its some times a car that is in the movie prop car lot

There are no movie prop car lots at the filming location. Vehicles must be transported to the filming location prior to shooting

I know that, but companies like Toyota or Ford do not go and place cars in movies for small parts like some of these mentioned, but for stuff like the tv show 24, where Toyota and Ford used to pay for product placement its different, most of the time cars in movies would be like this

Lexus is so abundant in movies now I don't even raise an eyebrow when I see one anymore.
