I still don't like the new M5, but I never thought the previous one look that great neither, but at least it's not ugly.
I think some old designs do stand up well to the test of time. To name a few, I still like the Cadillac Eldorados of the late 50's & early 60's. The Ferrari 348, Porsche 944, 928S4 still look good to me, the 90-96 300ZX, 87-91 Prelude & also the NSX with retractable headlights as well.

good job, Honda. You missed yet ANOTHER great opportunity. Being a loyal fan of 3 companies (Honda, Nissan, BMW), I must say my love for Honda is slowly dying. The Accord was a complete screw-up from day 1 after departing from the Accords of old that I must say, did not look too bad for their time. The 1998-2001 (?) was a great looking car. Shame for not continuing that. To me, it looks like the new Eclipse. I found some more pictures, let me try finding them.
I give it (judging by the spy shots and rumors) a 6.5-7.5; 5 for the exterior, 7-8 for what they say the interior features will include.

but hey, if they provide a lightweight body and LSD to go with what will be a great 6MT and 200+ HP engine, i just might be in the market for a 2006/7 Honda Civic Si to be my first car. If 0-60 is around just above 6 sec., I can understand why someone would want this. Believe me, I'm not the turbo-greedy, wing-needy teen freak many associate with someone who is looking forward to a well engineered Civic Si.

And the craftsmanship and design on VERY old cars is often astounding. A lot of them were designed and built by boat builders.
