Just found out TMG really means "Toyota Motorsport GmbH", Toyota’s German-based motorsport subsidiary. So it means nothing stupid like my previous guess of "Toyota AMG".
Check out:
http://www.toyota-f1.com/public/en/e.../report03.html

EDIT: Found the following facts after some more research:

AMG stands for the two founders of AMG, Hans Wener Aufrecht (A), Erhard Melcher (M), both co-founders, and Grossapach (G), the town in which the firm was founded in1967.

On the other hand, BMW founded this BMW Motorsport GmbH in 1972, which later became the M.

I guess TMG actually came from BMW's naming idea rather than MB's.

I think as long as Lexus delivers performance like BMW "M" or MB "AMG" with Lexus quality, they can call it whatever they want.

I think the report is including only all-new Lexus models in the list, e.g. ES350 will be an all-new redesign, while the RX350 is said to maintain the current design with only the engine upgraded, so the new ES is included but the RX is not. Likewise, the SC430 is gonna receive only a very mild refresh so it wasn't deemed newsworthy enough for inclusion in the list.

There'll be a facelift/upgrade for the SC430 this fall, so I don't think there will be a completely redesigned new SC in the next 2 or 3 years.

yeah i agree, the 06 is facelift, so i guess it might be 08. no reason to scramble everything together anyway

the interesting part is that the IS came out in 01 and it already got totally changed, IF following that scheme, the SC should get redone next year... why not redo it a bit earlier and call it 07
