What's your loaner?

Typically when you put your ES in for maintenance, or any car for that matter, what kind of car does the dealership give you as a loaner vehicle?

truongsta8 Apr 19, 2005 04:07 PM

Any car you request.... Lexus lets you pick any car that is available at the time. It is best to schedule an appointment ahead of time that way you know what you will be getting and when. This is a way Lexus use to persuade you into purchasing another model from their line up by loaning you the car and let you test drive it. :D

Standard issue ES or RX. IS loaners are non longer available here in the Western Region. Loaners are usually allocated to the dealership per their region office.

TX is still issuing IS,RX and ES for loaners

Woogie Apr 19, 2005 06:09 PM

dang! ehh oh well i was looking for a chance to get an IS as a loaner. The RX would be nice though because i've been thinking trading the ES for an RX this summer.

I bought my Lexus at Bobby Rahal Lexus in Mechanicsburg, PA. As long as I own the car, they pick up and deliver the car for any servicing. They leave me with a new Camry. I don't get a Lexus like most of you, but at least I don't have to take it to the dealer. :)

truongsta8 Apr 19, 2005 07:57 PM

wow  you guys are missing out. here at my lexus dealer they have all the models for you to take out when your car is serviced. :(

lexusk8 Apr 19, 2005 08:00 PM

My loaners have been the following so far: 1997 ES300, (2) 2001 ES300, 2003 ES300, 2004 RX330.

My car is actually going back to the body shop early next week for a couple minor issues that weren't properly addressed (after last month's accident). Normally around here, Lexus body/collision shop does not have a fleet of loaners to offer like in the service dept, but the body shop manager is nice enough to give me a loaner free of charge. Maybe the new GS will be available for a day or two? We'll see :woot:

Took my car in 3 times so far.

First time i got a gold ES, second time a maroon camry and the third time a blue camry.

Scheduled to take my car in next month, so i'm not suprised if i get another camry. Other owners here in Honolulu tell me that you have to request for a Lexus loaner.

One of the guys here had a white camry loaner and had his wheel covers stolen. He was responsible for the loaner and i think his insurance company got involved.

I wonder if they'll loan me a 2006 GS430?

Stage3 Apr 19, 2005 08:54 PM

By request. If not, you get an ES... they have more of those.

Woogie Apr 19, 2005 09:04 PM

yeah, i figured they've loan out either an ES or a Camry

jracerlmn Apr 19, 2005 09:07 PM

usually get a S class, if it's out i get a E, C, or ML

STIG Apr 19, 2005 10:59 PM

i never knew MB give out S class for the loners.

i have an acura, so i usually get TL or enterprise

The first time I went to my dealer (Carlsbad) for service they gave me a Camry. Since then I've been getting the ES.

My loaner has always been a rental Camry no matter if I scheduled an appointment or not. The appointement doesn't really matter, What matters for my Lexus dealer is how early in the morning you get there. Unfortunately, by the time we drop the car off (ABout 8:30 since my wife starts at 9AM) they are long out of Lexus vehicle loaners. They don't reserve one for you even if you make an appointment.
