Burnt-orange xB's are not just in SoCal......I have seen a number of them here in the D. C. area.
They were painted at the factory....not at dealerships.
You don't have to wait.....the 2005 Legacy / Outback is a superb product RIGHT NOW. it gives you Lexus-type fit-and-finish for a Subaru price
And Subaru warrants the 2.5 engine for 8 years / 100,000 miles if a special cooling-system conditioner is used....that was done to help address the head-gasket failure problem, a weak point on older models.
You don't consider the Matrix a decent small wagon.....or are you talking about something with 4 or 5 doors?

BMW 3 / 5 series wagons, Volvo V70s V50s,that kind of proper wagon
IMHO, Matrix is more like a crossover, tall wagon, mini-mini van
