I ment on exclusivity alone. HELL YEAH thats a whole lot of performance for the money, but i personally cant classify it as a exotic. To me exotics are something that is very hard to obtain, relatively more expensive than 45K, and a timeless unforgetable design. Yes it has the power and the design elements of an exotic, but definately not the exclusivity. Exclusivity is I beleive is the most important aspect to be classified as an exotic. Lambo, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, Lotus (Elise is about the same price, but way less ppl are gonna be driving it, hence exotic, and made by an exotic car company), heck i would almost classify the MB CL65 and SL65 as near exotic. The power they put out is out of this world. And try getting one, since there are about 2,000 of them being built, and an average of 35K mark-up.

I would give the Corvette a near exotic classification, since there are so many built( dont know exact #).
But like I said b4 I just couldnt get myself to buy it, if im lookin for performance at a great price, i would rip around the track in an STI or EVO. To each his own.
White is my least favorite color also, I would like to see what the blue looks like, or maybe a dark grey would be cool.

I agree that it is not an exotic, and not trying to be rude, but where did anyone say it was? I think of exotics as truly rare vehicles, like the classic Lambos, Ferraris, and like you said Elise, even at it's price range.

Who ever said the the Vette was exotic is nuts.

GM wants this car to be viewed as a sports car an American classic for the average guy who never made big bucks.

But now this guy has a few extra dollars in his 40' and 50's and are finally able to enjoy a piece of the automotive performance revolution.

45k is easier to afford than a 65k or 85k viper or 911.

Good for GM and the people that buy them. Maybe all this performance for not a ton of money will keep the competition jumping and that's good for us.

Jimxo, you seem to have a pretty good idea about everything Corvette. Have you heard anything about the price of the upcoming Z06 or whatever it will be called? My dad's considering ditching his 01 Coupe.

Yeah ... I absolutely hate this car.

I know it's a great car for the money - but unless you race it ... why not just save for 3 more months and get the prestige and practical excitement of something like an M3 or even better the new MB C55 AMG?

Black would probably work best to hide the HIDEOUS wheel gaps! It may handle well and go fast but like some others have said, it does look cheap.

Some judicious modding though might make it look killer.

I dunno ya'll, I like the C5 and the C6. I don't expect a great interior, we are talking about not only a sports car but GM. I do wish they kept the flip up headlights but for the money this car is a great buy under 50k. It keeps up with most cars twice it's price.
To hell with the wheel gap, we modd our cars anyway right.
