One thing to consider is car company like hyundia and kai are support group companies.

"Do you like ______ or ______"

"Which car has headlights you like?"

"Which of these cars would you be more interested in driving"

and on and on untill they have the "best" of everything into a car. They have no idenitiy yet cause we've seen what happens when you try that (daewoo) and its easier to make what people want. Still not convinced? one word: Amanti.

hyundai is offering a lot of car for the price... but i have to say one thing... all of their cars are so very closely similar aesthetically to other cars on the market... can they not pay ppl to actually design cars?

Hyundai definately needs to find more originality but I think the new Sonata looks good. Easily the best looking thing from Hyundai aside from the Tiburon. The tails work a little better than the Accord. The headlights are nice even though they copy Saab, Audi, & Acura a bit. A lot better than the crap that comes
out of GM's a$$.

Hyundai is on a roll now, but they need to get their design studios off the copy and paste mode. from what I hear, Hyundai is planning to open a design studio in San Diego County, Hyundai's US HQ is in Orange County, it's off some freeway in Fountain Valley.

and another thing I notice about Hyundai: I see very few new Hyundais in the dealer's service bay, can Ford/GM/DaimlerChrysler(Mercedes/Chrysler/Jeep and Dodge combined) say that?

This is what I have been trying to tell you guys for the whole last year ....gone are the days that Hyundai and Kia made junk. They still have a little way to go when it comes to drivetrain efficiency and refinement, but their fit-and-finish and general quality level....especially considering the low prices.....is as good as anything else out there for the money.

They are a better buy used than new because of the horrendous re-sale value they continue to have. buta decent & respectable car company.

Their resale values have not yet caught up with their vastly improved reputations.....but they will.

i don't agree with the not allowing imports etc etc.

My uncle in S. Korea drives a Pontiac Le mans (but I swear it's a cavalier) and he's had it for over 6 years.
When I went back to korea 2 years ago there were many S-class', 740's and a few fords.

I do agree with the resale value. I would not buy a new Hyundai. I would buy a 1 or 2 year off lease or something.
