that was quite a bit of reading! i think i'm over my monthly limit now, so i'm gonna have to cool it till september.

as far as the suv issue goes, i find it rather amusing. something like that i would never pick up on. even though i know how much those vehicles weigh, i'd never put 2 and 2 together (maybe thats why i do so bad in math?) states everywhere need to update their laws. IMO it's just rediculous to give tax breaks to car buyers who purchse HUGE SUVs to use for "work" and reap the benefits of tax breaks and skirting past the gas guzzler laws. if it were up to me, if you're going to be going against the goal of using LESS oil, then you should have to pay more taxes, not less.

The tax code goes by the GVWR which is how much the car theoretically weighs when fully loaded. Normally, most of those SUV's do not weigh more than 3 tons. So does the ban apply to the GVWR or what it really weighs at the time?

time4lexus is correct..gross means fully loaded...not empty.
Even still, these "bans" probably won't last long once the Terminator in Sacramanto finds out....he personally owns several H1's....then the Terminator's going to do some Terminating.

Yeah...leave the large SUVs/trucks for serious off-roading, and let the rest of us drive in peace...

Our Governator may have a 2nd opinion though.
