Some of that is nonsense. Factory kits/sound are acceptable. I just never understood why somebody would pay for a new Civic and then put over 10,000$$ worth of mods in it for lackluster appearance and performance. Even if it is fast, it's still a Civic. Why not save for another 6 months and buy a car at 30-35 thousand dollars (e.g. IS300, 3-series, MB C-230komp, 300C, Audi A4, WRX, Evo, etc etc etc) ???

Oh well.

There's a serious fallacy in your argument. Does it make it OK then to buy a second hand (or even new) Lexus and then put over 10,000$$ worth of mods in it? Why not save for another 6 months and buy an E55, M5, a Porsche 911, a used nsx? All of these cars would put your (our) lexus to shame no matter how much you love Lexus.

The point of the matter here is that these guys are doing what other people think impossible/unnecessary/pointless/tactless/amazing. Be it hooking up a civic and making it hover an inch on top of the ground (I was being sarcastic) or hooking up a Lexus and paying out enough to buy a "real" exotic, the real point here is in the actual modification itself. Heck a guy modifying a pinto is still a modificator.
