Which car do you think is a great sleeper car?
No one has mentioned the Celica All-Trac?
All-wheel drive 2.0 liter turbo. Rarer than the SC300 and looks like the regular Celica sans a mild lip kit on the 88-89s and a hood scoop on the 90-93's. Motor shared with MR-2 turbo so the aftermarket is plentiful.
A personal friend of mine has his '93 in the 10's and he drives it everyday. Yes, I said 10's.
That should sure surprise MANY an exotic car owner, not to mention the sport compacts.
I had an 88 with mild mods and it put many a Hondacura owner to shame. Totally stock on the outside down to the refrigerator white paint and the 14" wheels.
Good times.
More info on that car on my site here: http://www.allwheelmotion.com/

...at least not with cops around. I don't necessarily agree with this, but that is the whole idea of a so-called "sleeper car" ...to be able to speed without attracting attention from flashy or boy-racer looks. And I repeat my earlier statement, because it is true...a Rolls-Royce, whether it is a "tank" or not , is about as stealthy as a Hollywood model in the men's room....there is no way a cop is not going to notice one.
Also consider.....cops know that Rolls drivers and owners have MONEY. Do you think for one second that a cop is going to let a Rolls owner off with a warning?....dream on it. He'll write out the maximim fine possible.
I pulled this from LL's thread, IMO this is a great sleeper and it stuck with me.
This one's a Sentra SE-R with SR20DE-T swap, built motor, TE37's, everything custom fabbed for this vehicle by JBE. Over 500 rwhp from two litres...
Agree on the Celica All-Trac...
Not too many people care about WRC in North America (especially WRC of yore) so no one would expect the old Celica to be much of a threat...
Little do they know about Sainz's triumphs behind the wheel of said Celica....
