in what states is it illegal to have a laser or radar detector on you car?

I'm looking into getting a laser/radar jammer.
I've been told that cops will pursuit your car if they can't get a reading on their laser gun because they already suspect that you are speeding and try to get you a ticket for something else they can find wrong with your car.
Am I just asking for trouble getting the laser/radar jammer?

in regards to this, what rights do we have as drivers if we have our lisence insurance and registration. Can we request the presence of a warrent if the officer asks to search our car or trunk?

 

Yes you can refuse a search. However at that point he can immediately arrest you at his/her discretion and impound your car while he gets a warrant. Have at it if you want, I'm popping the trunk if asked.

No, because they don't work well or consistently; most are just scams. Caveat emptor.
