What do we have here? Future Benz drivers testing their skills!
It was a fun event to check out, especially for those who have never gotten any exposure to a Mercedes-Benz. This event is circulated around the US at select locations, and the next cities to hit are at Orange County CA, Orlando FL, Pittsburgh PA, Sacramento CA and St. Louis MO. You can find more info of the C-class event at http://www.c-spotdriveparty.com
I never have much desire for the CL , not that it's a bad looking car, but IMO it's one of the very rare case in which the coupe version of a model looks less attractive than the sedan(S class)
I was there on Saturday afternoon...I got yelled at BIG TIME for drifting around corners and turns....The event coordinaters claimed I was on the verge of spinning out....
Originally posted by lexusk8 I like the blacked-out background of the gauge cluster in the CL (kinda reminiscent of the Lexus gauge clusters). The only thing I don't like about the interior is the leather; it is much harder than the Lexus leather, almost like a turtle shell
Yeah, when we got our S500, the leather was hard that my back was hurting! Not kidding. I guess that I was was so used to the suuuppple of the Lexus. If you're in the CL and you're complaining, imagine the sedan! I believe the CL is perforated. The CL is actually soft, but no one can compare to Lexus though.

The CL500 that I sat in that day wasn't perforated. However, I went to a Benz meet sometime last year, and this CL 55 AMG came by. It was a beauty, and the leather seating in the CL 55 is both perforated and ventilated, but not quite as soft as Lexus leather as you mentioned. Still not bad
On that modified coupe. . . why is the DVD based Xbox with a magnet sensitive hard drive placed right on TOP OF THE FRIGGIN SUBWOOFER? Tells you what kinda idiot modified that car. So much for DVD's skipping and SCRATCHING and hard drives becoming useless.
It's nice of MB to run an event like this. Of course it's great marketing for them, but still I admire the effort they put into educating potential customers.
The ricey Benz they could have done without. Not only lacking class in aesthetics, as dj.ctwatt pointed out it was a purely amateurish job. The "negative gap" is another indicator--a pro would pick springs based on the weight they expect to carry.
I had to post this one pic again, not because of the AMG cars, but because some idiot misspelled the name of the event on their own sign! "C-SPOT"??!! *rotflmfao*
