Buick GS300
Ah yes, thats hideous.
Buick: Pick our crappy, subpar old-mannish 4 door sedans, or our gaudy suvs.
Nothing good is coming out of GM nowadays except for some cadillacs... even the corvette became uglier.

That is so freakin UGLY!!!!!!!!!! GM hasn't been doin so well with their products and even though that they're sayin things are lookin up for the future, i highly doubt it. They admitted that they were selling crap for so long and they still are. This is probably why I've been taught to not like domestics.
But back to the subject, that this is hideous. Reminds me of a drawing that was done back in the '80's ish. There's really no excuse for the designers to create something like that.

The article says:
"The car is aimed at the 49- to 59-year-old consumer, Cowger said, and GM expects to build 80,000 to 100,000 LaCrosses in 2004 and substantially more in subsequent years."
"The LaCrosse CXS will be Buick’s most powerful car ever. With a new aluminum 3.6-liter engine that boasts variable valve timing, dual overhead cams and four valves per cylinder, the CXS generates 240 hp and 230 pounds-feet of torque."
I don't think this is aiming at Lexus GS buyers.

wow, if this is gonna be their most powerful engine, then i'd like to see the least powerful engine in their lineup to. Defeinitley not targeted to the younger age crowd.

Yeah, it looks like a bloated Jag X-Type, bluelex.
ripe, you must be thinking of Oldsmobile, which GM is closing down soon. Bob Lutz wants to make Buick into a line of quiet, smooth riding cars (he cited Lexus as a benchmark for quiet), while Cadillac gets more of a performance element.

before they build that car, do they actually look at a prototype first and say "wow, this is a nice looking car. this should go on the market"??
isn't it common sense to know that when something looks ugly, it IS ugly.

Saw the car at the Chicago autoshow. Actually very nice (with a real interior, not the usual GM crap). And yes, those headlights sure do seem like they came from a GS, so I'm not sure why y'all are calling them ugly.
PS - the 2006 GS looked even better in person.

We heard this same nonsense from Lee Iacocca at Chrysler twenty years ago....."All-New" Chrysler quality....same old junk.

The nonsense that passes for public relations in today's auto marketing never ceases to amaze me.
I thought GM was going to close Buick down for good?
