I would think that there are so many dangers when traveling very fast, but everyone knows there are risks. That is what makes it so exhilerating. Cops... possible crash, animal in the road... tires give out... anything CAN go wrong.
OK...point taken......and yes, triple-digit speeds are probably a lot safer in, say, eastern Montana or western Kansas than they are on Manhattan Island. Tires are also supposed to have a built-in safety margin over their rating, but as we have seen with the Ford Explorer / Firestone Wilderness debacle, that is not always the case.

I've hit 145 in my SC.
125 in my Eclipse. I didn't think it would hold together much after that so I backed off.

An Eclipse is FAR from a Lexus in build quality.

Even the ES250's limiters are set at 135.

as for tire rating, with my escort passport fuzzbuster, i routinely break 110-115 in the Concorde and cruise for long periods of time. i have michelin pilots

Shouldn't have any problem, at least tire-wise, with Pilots.......especially the Pilot Sports, as long as you have the right PSI's. Pilots in general are rated for higher speeds than your Concorde is capable off in stock trim....even downhill.

Be careful, though....don't know what the high-speed laws are in TX but in VA, my state, 110-115 MPH is SERIOUS buisness. Anything over 80 is automatic wreckless driving. Triple-digit speeds can get you locked up here.
