Im sure its different depending on who you lease from, but typically I have heard you need better insurance than you would normally have on a car you are buying, like the deductibles need to be lower and the coverage for injuries, property need to be higher....anyone have an estimate of what kind of coverage most will require to lease a car? Im trying to call and get some quotes, but not sure how much coverage I should be asking for.

 

There might be some minimums but I have never heard of them here in IL (you do need insurance however). Actually, since you don't own the car, the leasing company assumes a bunch of the burden should you do something stupid. Many car companies stopped leasing in NY because they allow the leasing co to be sued for something the driver does.
