Unhappy ACS System Malfunction Cause accident

I am writing to caution RX 350 AWD On 11/3/2025

while I was slowly PARKING the vehicle into a parking position at a N0 speed WHEN STOPPING, the car suddenly and aggressively accelerated to the left by itself—without any input from me on the accelerator. The vehicle jumped over the curb, veered toward the sidewalk, and collided with a tree. This occurred at the moment the car was nearly parked.

There was:
  • No foot on the accelerator,
  • No intention to turn sharply,
  • No reasonable circumstance that could justify such a sudden and forceful movement.
This behavior indicates a possible malfunction related to the vehicle’s collision avoidance system, steering assist, acceleration control system, or another electronic safety/driver assistance feature. We were happy with this new car pre order the color and realy love it except this freeky incident happened. send to dealer for diagnostic but i dont think i can trust the cas or acs system this can cause serious injury if does not gte fix properly. We are lucky no one got hurt around the car.Air bag also did not deployed.

I am going to go out on not much of a limb and say that you absolutely caused this yourself.

Shouldn't this go into the RX forum instead of here?

Just had a very similar post from someone in the W223 forum on MBWorld.

The reality is that every time these things have ever been investigated it has found to have been driver error. I was in a car once where the driver mistook the gas for the brake and its very scary. There is no way the car took off on its own steering and all...

Sounds like OP should buy a used car without these assistance features.

Unlike other manufacturers, Lexus tends to lean towards conservative but reliable programming on all of their safety systems. They may not be flashy, but they work as intended. Interesting that the pictures show damage to the driver's side front quarter panel near the wheel well, but the front end damage is on the passenger side.
