No, the bailout you're talking about was because of a worldwide economic downturn that threatened their existence. We gave them loans that they repaid. Nothing like this would put that same level of pressure on a carmaker.

 

GM's own estimate is $500 million, which is probably low, but this recall places them at no risk.
