Located in Thousand Oaks, I recently had a rear-end collision and am concerned about the excessive recommendations from the repair shop. They are suggesting a full tailgate replacement and estimating a repair time of 30 to 60 days, despite claiming to have most of the parts in stock. Moreover, they wouldn’t even allow me to drop off my car for a month. Has anyone in the Thousand Oaks area had positive experiences with a Tesla body shop? I would greatly appreciate any recommendations.

 

Can't speak to Thousand Oaks but certified repair shops are pretty backed up and they usually recommend replace vs. repair. My wife was rear ended and the bulk of the damage was caused by an exposed license plate screw gouging the bumper. Tesla certified shop recommended a full rear bumper and since it wasn't our insurance paying for it, we went with it. Timing for drop off and completion matched were pretty similar too
