American Honda Auto Sales Overcome Supply Issues as Honda Brand Tops One Million Units in 2024
November 1, 2024- American Honda sales total 110,346 units in October (+2.1%), despite supply issues that limited availability of key models. Sales of light truck and electrified models remain strong for both Honda and Acura brands.
- Honda brand sales passed the 1-million-unit mark in October, one month earlier than 2023, with sales of nearly 100,000 units (99,499) for the month (+2.6%) maintaining strong annual sales momentum despite supply issues.
- Honda electrified sales of over 30,000 units were led by hybrids – with CR-V and Accord topping 50% hybrid mix, Civic sales over 26% hybrid, combined with Prologue EV sales of 4,130 units.
- CR-V sales top 30,000 units for the 8th time in 2024, with October hybrid sales representing 52% of mix
- Honda light truck sales are up 15% for the year with 71,355 units sold in October
- Pilot sales of 11,927 keep it #1 in segment, up 27% YTD; TrailSport models a strong 16% of October sales

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 1, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported total October sales of 37,307 vehicles, an increase of 58.7 percent compared to October 2023. Year-to-date sales totaled 350,759 vehicles sold; an increase of 18.5 percent compared to the same time last year. With 27 selling days in October, compared to 25 the year prior, the company posted an increase of 47 percent on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis.

Crosstrek achieved its best October ever with 15,928 vehicles sold, a 15.7 percent increase compared to October 2023. Outback was the second-highest selling carline in October with 13,549 vehicles sold, and Forester sales increased to 13,431 vehicles sold as production continues to reach full capacity.

STRONG DEMAND FOR ITS ELECTRIFIED AND SUV MODELS POWERS KIA AMERICA TO BEST-EVER OCTOBER SALES

- All-time best October totals for Kia’s electrified and SUV vehicles – up 30- and 19-percent, respectively
Sales of Kia’s all-electric (EV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and hybrid (HEV) vehicles increased by 70-percent, 65-percent, and 49-percent respectively compared to last year, which helped the brand achieve its highest-ever sales for electrified models in October. Additionally, SUV sales reached a record high for the month, accounting for 73-percent of total sales, illustrating the ongoing popularity of Kia's SUV lineup.
Three Kia nameplates – Sportage, Carnival, EV6 – set new October sales records while four other Kia models – Sorento (+23-percent); Telluride (+14-percent); K5 (+12-percent) and Soul (+10-percent)– posted significant sales gains as compared to the same period last year.
“A number of Kia’s electrified models and SUVs realized double-digit sales increases, propelling Kia to our best October sales performance in company history,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America. “Kia continues to appeal to a broad range of consumers as we offer 10 compelling utility models many with a choice of all-electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid and ICE powertrains. As the all-new K4 compact sedan and the first-ever Carnival Hybrid MPV are already generating significant foot traffic in Kia showrooms nationwide, we expect the positive growth to continue.”
In addition to the monthly sales performance, Kia America announced several initiatives, including:
- Kia America announced immediate assistance programs to help in recovery efforts following the destruction caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the Southeastern U.S., which included a total monetary donation of $400,000. In addition, Kia implemented a customer assistance program for Kia customers in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina who need to replace a vehicle damaged beyond repair because of the hurricanes. Customers with an insurance claim for loss of a vehicle because of the storms will be eligible to receive $500 in support for the purchase or lease of select new Kia vehicles made between October 4, 2024 through January 2, 2025.1
- Kia America announced the third year of the automaker’s “Accelerate the Good” Dealer Match program which raised more than $4.5 million for non-profits nationwide in 2023, 20 percent more than the program raised last year. Kia and its nationwide network of dealers selected charities across the U.S., including organizations that help treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases; help end childhood hunger; provide shelter for youth facing homelessness; provide natural disaster relief for recovering communities; offer support for military families; help shelter animals find forever homes and assist with environmental cleanup projects nationwide.
- A modified Kia Telluride X-Pro participated in the 2024 Rebelle Rally, marking the third year of competition for Kia America’s most decorated vehicle. Having secured a podium finish every year in the X-Cross class, the Telluride X-Pro returns with enhanced modifications and a renewed drive for redemption. Volvo Car USA and Canada reports sales of 10,517 cars in October
Nov 04, 2024 ID: 336721MAHWAH, NJ (Nov. 4, 2024) – Volvo Car USA and Canada sold 10,517 cars in October, down 15.5 percent over the same period last year. Sales of electrified models — those with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain — increased 17.8 percent compared with the same month last year and accounted for 40.3 percent of sales during the month. Year to date, sales of electrified models are up 16.2 percent versus the 1st 10 months of 2023, and accounted for a 34.6 percent share of sales.Sales in the US reached 9,360 in the month of October, down 17 percent over the same period last year. Sales of electrified models increased 17.5 percent over the same period last year and accounted for 38.2 percent of total sales.
Sales in Canada reached 1,157 cars in October, up 0.6 percent over the same period last year, with electrified models increasing 19.1percent compared to the same period last year, representing 57 percent of total sales for the month.
In the US, the XC60 compact luxury SUV was the top selling model with 3,156 cars sold during October, followed by the XC90 midsize luxury SUV (2,948 cars) and the XC40 small luxury SUV (2,144 cars).
