It is coming to the US, not sure what Motor Trend is smoking.

They did confirm that it would be for model year 2026 which means it won't be sold here until 2025.

I LOVE the design. I have a R2 on order but would seriously consider getting this instead. Will the tax credit be available on these? (not sure if its being built in USA)

If it's built in Georgia where Hyundai is building a factory, you'll get the tax credit. Also if you decide to lease, some dealerships will add the tax credit as an incentive, which is what they did for my Ioniq 5

hyundai is building an enormous battery plant in georgia which will help everything.

i would say almost certainly since the 2025 ioniq 5 has it.

R2 is likely to have a performance edge if that matters to you

All reports are saying it'll be built in Mexico. And it's closer in size to the R3 than the R2. I don't think it'll be in the same conversation as either until a dual motor version is announced.

That looks very short - she is quite a bit taller than the car when she's standing next to it. I'd be curious to see the dimensions.
