Default Lexus RX350 - Lost wheel lock key - how to remove

Hey everyone,

Recently lost my wheel lock key for my RX350 and i was deciding to bring it into the dealership to get it removed and install a new one.
But they wanted my kidney, and left arm for it. After some googling, I decided to do it myself as it looks simple enough.

The video shows the tools needed, torque spec 76lb, and the wheel lock needed that can be purchased from amazon.
If you ever run into such a problem, please check out this video below.

WIth a little elbow grease, its fairly easy to do. Good luck!!

Ask any criminal and they will have the wheel locks off in 5 seconds. Those wheels locks are worthless. A friend of mine lost his wheel lock key years ago which happened often when he would buy a used car and did exactly what was in the video, worked every time.

When I lost my BMW wheel lock key (the splined type), I didn't even have to buy a kit like in the video to get them off. I just hammered a slightly-too-small socket (want to say it was a 20mm) onto it, and then hit it with the impact. Took less than 5 minutes to do them all, even though I was figuring it out as I went along. Was noisy as hell though.

Replaced them with regular wheel bolts.

My bad, I didn’t really watch the video fully, I just saw in the video the guy hammering on a socket so I thought he was doing what you said. What you did is exactly what my friend did, just hammered on a socket. Worked every time.

In hindsight, i should have just bought regular lug nuts as replacement. I would have saved some money from these useless wheel locks.
