EV Sports car - Giant test
I think you may have misunderstood me. Not offended one bit, and I apologize if that's how you took it, I was just being overly expressive. I'm glad you enjoy your car and it's sounds, people should drive what they enjoy
General question - other than the exterior and interior design, is there any functional difference between the regular Ionic 5 and it's corporate cousin - the Kia EV6 GT? I prefer the overall exterior design of the Kia and would consider getting one to replace my S in the future. Ofcourse it would have to be the GT version (is that the equivalent of the Hyundai N model?)

I don't know where this idea comes from that ICE vehicles have some kind of "soul" when these big naturally aspirated V8's and V12's that people keep dreaming about were already at death's door a decade ago well before EV's became mainstream.

Unless you're talking about hypercars, most if not all ICE performance vehicles today have fake pumped-in engine noise. Turbocharged motors and hybrids aren't exactly the most exciting things to listen to.

I never claimed that. There always has been and always will be a market for economy transportation. The engines being discussed were V8s and V12s, and the government's policies with corporate emission standards and associated fines absolutely do limit access to those type of vehicles. The CEO of Dodge outright stated this. LS customers certainly didn't choose a V6tt LS either, and sales show it.

Maybe things are different in other parts of the country, but here in California, most wealthy people are not buying vehicles with big engines. I can count on my fingers daily the number of new (between 2020 and 2024) V8's and even V6's. In fact most of the bigger engine cars I see are driven by the poor/Blue collar. You'll find more V8's in East Oakland than in Palo Alto, where the average house is worth well over $2M. My brother in Law lives in the Fremont hills where the starting price of a house is $2.7M and in his entire neighborhood there is one Mustang GT owned by his neighbors son, probably bought by dad. This is a trend I've been seeing since the mid-2000's
