Yes and I'm using the best ones in their class....the other brands trade a little noise reduction for a major reduction in snow performance and consistency over lifespan.

Though I do find Pirellis quite quiet for a given class, not enough for me to trade other aspects though. Continental also makes great options and I generally compare those 3 plus Goodyear whenever I'm buying a new set for something. We put Pirelli tires on the rover since handling wasn't the ultimate concern and the acoustic foam/OE design really helps quiet it down to match the level of cars.

Those are Audis OE tires for the A8 as well, they get stupid loud and lose a lot of wet grip as they age. Advantage is the signature Goodyear steering feel that is very nice

I've got the stock OEM equivalent Michelins on the LS, good Michelins on the LX that destroyed 10 inches of snow while other 4x4s were stuck... once these Chinese tires are done on the SL they'll be replaced with sweet Michelins. You told me to get a certain set of Michelins for the LX570 that are apparently better than what I have, and when the time comes I'll be asking which ones again.

I've been driving since 1998 and I've never had a flat tire.. knock on wood. Always had Michelin tires, wondering if that has anything at all to do with it.

I don't know what it's like to have a blow out on the interstate knock on wood.

 

You are obviously a far more aggressive driver than I am....and probably more so than most drivers.

I have Pirelli P Zero A/S Plus 3 on the S560 and Pirelli Scorpion A/S 3 on the Pacifica. Both are great tires, great grip and they ride so nice and quiet. The scorpions look a little aggressive on the Pacifica...

I always want to ask you. You have a 4.7 iForce. My 4Runner gets 15MPG. It’s never really moved off that over 20 years. It’s rated at 14/17. I am not sure if you agree with me or see what I’m saying, but I’ll give it a try. The 4.7s peak torque is 3400lbs. I could literally drive it all day long or maybe even weeks without surpassing the 3400rom peak. It has no trouble keeping up with traffic but you never really go into the higher RPMs as it actually doesn’t have a lot of horsepower. do you know what I’m talking about with your V-8?

just looked up pirellis vs michelins for lc500 and the pirellis are $340 more for the set but the michelins rank slightly higher.

 

That's why it's best to always check at time of purchase who makes the best stuff

 

Totally depends on the model. For my car the Pirellis are cheaper (different model) and they also are softer riding and quieter than the Michelins.

I always look at the actual Tire Rack tests vs the user reviews.

 

Those Pirellis are Run flats. I’d stay away from them and buy whatever tire Pirelli makes in that size that’s not a run flat.
