49 Cadillac for Bimmer Bill
Hey Joe, You are indeed a friend. Of all the videos of '49 Cadillacs that is one I did not have. I just about cried, bought my '49 in 1954 when I turned 16 and it went through A lot of changes but nothing like this one did. I wish I had not sold it A few months back. Oh well I have these videos to pull up anytime I get melancholy thoughts in my head.
Joe you are a great friend and THANKS,
Bill

Hi Bill, honestly I don't remember even seeing a picture of a fastback Caddy. Thats why I was so interested of yours, I wanted to see what one looked like, I thought I knew all about cars. My first car ever was a 57, 2 door Bel Air, 283 powerglide 2 Spd I believe. Red w white top. The 57 was "King of the Road" for many years back in the day. Clean hopped up ones still go for Big bucks today in the auctions.
Anyway this one blew my mind, had never seen one, and this one is magnificent. I would love to have it, especially w Cadillac's biggest V8 ever. Would definitely be my weekend car. Cadillac did that thing right. Yeh, talk about style and class. I think I enjoyed it as much as you
BTW the bottom photo, I took in a Route 66 town
All the best___Joe

Good morning Joe,
Thanks again, not sure how many times I watched it. I can identify with the '57 Chevy's, When living in Memphis we had a local car club of '55-'57 Nomads. I had two "55s and a '56. We did let the Pontiac Safaris into the club but did not have a big patch for those members for the back of their jackets. Here is where I jumped the fence, I picked up a non running '57 four door Safari which was only a four door with metal strips on the tailgate. Some say that they were the good old days but all of my 85 years have been good old days especially with all the cars I have owned, and the fun I have had with the cars and all my friends over the years.
Best of luck Joe and thanks again,
Bill
