Post Oil Pressure

So for my 2JZ-GE I got an OEM oil pump from Summit, one friend of mine said to return the oil pump because they're crap. So at idle 700 RPM it is 40 PSI cold, 14 PSI when fully warm, at 6,000 RPM the oil pressure is 70-80 psi, is that good for a 2JZ-GE? It's that a bit low, or is it just right? I really don't wanna take apart the bottom end because it's already in the car and is a pain to take out/put back in.

Your comments would be much appreciated!

Why go to 6000 RPM to start with? Even with an efficient oil pump, that still puts needless revs and wear on the engine. Most normal driving doesn't need to go past 3 or 4K.

True I rebuilt the motor, drove it for 1,800 miles not going more than 3,000 RPM (because of highway), I only gave 30% throttle. I wanted to test it after the proper break in period, I was trying to see the max pressure the pump could push. I was trying to see something like a pressure chart between PSI and RPM. I was hopeful that someone would say if the pressure matches the RPM's on their car.

That strikes me as very low for a fresh build, I always want to see at least 30 psi at idle and hitting relief pressure at no more than 3k rpm.

I can idle any of my cars post 4 hour drive and still see around 30psi......the built engine being the best about it other than the W12 since that one is 72psi at all times.

yeah I might need to check into that, it would stay 30 PSI until I hit the highway for about 15 minutes and let it idle again, might have a oil cooling issue because I think it thins out a bit much. Also yes I use 5W30 Synthetic.

not specific to to 2JZ, but I had 1 bar at hot idle 4 cylinder.. if it's synthetic oil like mobil 1.

Some pressure better than no pressure
