It's funny, if Honda had badged this coupe as the Integra instead of that Honda Civic hatch, this design would have received so much more positive feedback. Instead they make the same mistake of revising a legacy nameplate with a new design that has no relation to it and **** everyone off again.

Looks okay to me? It's a Honda, they never look that great excepting stuff like the S2000 etc.

The E weighs just 100lbs more than the Type R. Nobody complains about the R's weight.

I certainly wouldn't object to this having the K20C3 and a manual, but zero chance they'd have that on two cars within the Honda brand.

The Prelude was always a cool looking car especially last gen.

Again the demand for coupes is very weak as its a niche market.
The demand for a hybrid or EV coupe is even smaller.

Just give consumers what they want - sporty good looking coupe with a turbo and optional manual trans. I mean how hard is this to do when all this is already available in other models that Honda sells!

I respect a lot of your views, but I can't quite agree with that. The Prius, IMO, looks like something out of a Halloween party....this Prelude, at least, has halfway decent styling front and rear. If anything, it reminds me of the Ford Probe sport-coupe of the 1990s.

Here's the rear end, BTW, since I don't think the OP included it.

I actually really like it, the more I see the more it grows on me. If it had a manual trans and AWD I would consider it as a daily

My parents had Accords and Civics and I remember a few friends who had Preludes and thought they were very sporty for the price and features not to mention excellent reliability. I would take one of those but the design above is just not distinct like the original. Seems more like a ripoff of some other designs out there and Honda just wanted to fit in somehow.

Virtually everything Honda made back then, in the Prelude's days, had well above average reliability. In some ways, along with Lexus, it was the industry standard.

100%

Buying a coupe is a huge sacrifice in utility for most people. You sacrifice that utility for the Styling and Performance that a coupe can deliver. Nobody will look twice at this thing at a mall parking lot let alone a Cars and Coffee.

They should make a 2 door version of Integra Type S - that would sell amazing.
