Why are you so worked up about this? This sort of thing is just a reality when using technology in 2023. You can agree and accept, or stop using the technology.

Data is the most valuable asset a company can have today. Of course everybody is monetizing it.

We paid for the digital key option feature, and now cannot use it without giving up privacy rights, that's why.

Sorry but I do not remember Lexus telling me that part of the deal was to allow Google to harvest and sell all of my data as a condition to use the remote services.

You may not care but I do!

You give up your right to data privacy by choosing to use a smartphone. They track everything you do and everywhere you are all the time and sell that data. Everyhting you do on your smartphone is tracked, where you go, who you are with, what you look up where you are etc.

Your iPhone already harvests all your data and the telematics system in your car knows everywhere you go...whats the difference?

You may not care but I do!
Then stop using the app, iPhone etc. You're not going to change this, the value of this data to Lexus is way more than the value of your business.

This is all just ego. Nobody cares what you do or where you go specifically, you don't mean that much to enough people for them to care. They are gathering data on you as a member of society so they can make larger predictions about society and use that data for marketing etc. If you were Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk you would have reason to care about your own specific movements being studied. You're just an ant in the anthill like the rest of us and Google etc just wants to know what all us ants are doing. If you don't want them to know, you have no choice but to stop using all of this technology.

You're just causing yourself stress about something that you aren't going to take the actual steps necessary to really avoid for no reason. You cant change it, may as well stop worrying about it.

I'm not worked up at all lol, I just find the fact that you are so worked up amusing because you won't actually do what you need to do to actually stop having people track you, which is to eschew technology and stop living any kind of digital life. You want the digital life but for nobody to track you and thats just not going to happen, because the data is the whole reason they created this digital life in the first place and why they give it to you for free. Why do you think Gmail, Google Maps, Waze etc is free? Because they can read all your email and see everywhere you go and get data from it and use and sell that data.

They're tracking me same as they are tracking you, I just accept it. If you want to use the app and the digital key you will have to agree to the privacy agreement. If you don't agree you wont have those features. You cannot change this, its a yes or no. Lexus will not make an exception to their data mining process just for you. You said you don't remember Lexus telling you it was part of the deal...they did...in the new privacy agreement they sent you...that was them telling you lol

Well Android is Google, so they already have your data.

In other words this always was an Android issue, surprise surprise.

Very true. I have had some very "interesting" experiences working overseas. Which is why I use a burner phone now when travelling.
