lol, knew that was coming.
yup, it's no s-class. at less than half the price, how could it be?
Lots of much nicer vehicles for less money without the three pointed star on the hood, This vehicle only sells to anybody because its a Mercedes. My Pacifica blows it away.
Just looked up what I thought was its most obvious competitor, and it seems, the X1 would make more sense of a purchase at this level. I think I would pay the difference for what you get in return.
I wonder how low the lease is......I have been temped to lease a car and play the game of just how durable it is. I doubt I would be able to actually bring myself to be mean to a car but having something I could just not care about may be fun

I had an X1 as a loaner a few years ago. It was a surprisingly good car. I really expected to hate it, but it was well-finished for the class and way more fun to drive than a FWD-based CUV has any right to be. A touch too small for me, mostly getting in and out, but very comfortable once inside.
It's unquestionably a far better car than the dismal GLA.

X1 comes standard with AWD, so those prices aren't accurate. Once you add AWD, the MB costs more.
I haven't been in a GLA, but if the CLA is anything to similar, I'd say that the interior looks wonderful until you open the door and sit inside and realize all the fancy lights and facade are just that, a facade. You'll find alot of hard plastics and what you think is supposed to be metal is in fact painted plastic parts. Or if they really are real metal, they weren't done very well and felt plasticky. With that said, my only experience was in a base CLA on an uber ride, I haven't spent any appreciable time studying the vehicle, nor do I intend to ever do that.
Have you been in them both? The X1 is a lot nicer inside. The chassis and ride are way better too
yes i have. i don't agree x1 is "a lot nicer". it might have been on earlier gla's but not now. i know you don't like the gla/glb 'plasticky' interior, but the x1 isn't "a lot nicer" these days i don't think, but hey, agree to disagree.

that extends even up to the GLE... everything looks nice but when you actually start pressing buttons and operating controls it's cheap plastics meant to look like aluminum, fake wood trim, and general flimsiness
also not a very good trackpad for operating MBUX, my 11 year old macbook pro is like far better lol... usb cables and other things can accidentally operate it, and tap to select only works like 1/3 the time
GLA is complete garbage. And I think the styling is horrible. The Mercedes design language does not translate well to vehicles of this proportion. Very dorky looking with with the small wheels and round back. I think the GLB looks slightly better because of the boxiness but it just ends up looking like a popemobile
Far more palatable options in this segment including the BMW X1, Audi q3, And Volvo xc40. Or even something like a RAV4 or CX-5 far more appealing.
