Playing "Count the EV's"
This is kind of silly, but for my morning commute, for the last few days I've been playing "count the EV's" on my way to the office. It's about a 10 mile drive, so why not? I usually don't keep track, but this morning I did, and here was the results:
25 Tesla's (mostly Model Y and 3's, but also 1 Model S and 1 Model X)
1 Mercedes EQS Sedan
1 Audi E-Tron
1 Hyundai Kona
Tesla wins this round

My nicce lived in Arlington, TX for 10 years before coming back to the Bay Area. Wendy used to say, "We come to CA to play Count the Teslas."
There are probably 5+ Teslas and 2+ Bolts on my street alone.

This morning was more interesting
18 Tesla's
9 or 10 Rivian
2 Hyundai Ioniq 5
2 Ford Mach-E
Technically the Rivian's were all on a truck trailer, but I counted them because they are probably on their way to customers. And I've never seen that many Rivians in one place.
On another note, this is not scientific at all, it's just based on my observations over the last few days and is purely anecdotal. I've been looking to see what new car purchases are being made. The criteria here is 2021 through 2023 model years. The top 5 new cars that I see daily are:
1) Tesla Model Y
2) Tesla Model 3
3) Toyota Rav4
3) Honda CRV
4) Toyota Camry
5) Honda Civic/Corolla tied

I drove 3 hours from NC to VA on Tuesday afternoon and 3 hours back. I only saw 6 EVs total in that entire time, 4 Teslas and 1 Mustang EV on the road plus one Tesla in the Costco parking lot when I made a quick stop there on the way. Way up was 1/2 interstate and 1/2 back roads in farm / mountain country. Way back I did 95% interstate I-81 & I 77
Of note last Tesla MY I was watching when I was near home was a blatant red light runner lol, so that one especially stood out.

^ thanks for sharing that. It keeps me honest that just because I see EVs everywhere here, not all parts of the country are the same. And thanks for creating this sub forum.
now back to regular programming, sorry for the OT

There are so many Tesla's now where I live, you'll see 4 in the first four minutes...
Oh yeah, also thank you Dave for the sub forum. You and your mods are awesome!
I see so many Teslas around me but then it’s also red car syndrome because yesterday after I read this post I looked and counted and of all the cars I saw I only counted 3 Teslas and a ton of regular cars. I did count one MB EQS in black and as ugly as that car is, it actually looked pretty good in black.
I will say after getting my Tesla and talking to a couple guys at my gym, both enthusiasts, one of them bought a Model Y a few months ago and this morning the other just bought one yesterday.

. I bet you guys over there send each other referral codes! One of our companies lead engineers used to work for Tesla, he came to me yesterday and said if I buy another one, he'll send me a referral code, I'll get a $1000 off and he gets $1000 worth of charging...or something like that.
